UPDATE: Major Crash Team Investigating Pedestrian/Vehicle Crash on Southeast Division at 156th

The 25-year-old man hit by a vehicle this morning remains in critical condition at a Portland hospital.

Investigators learned that the man was crossing Southeast Division Street (South to North) at 156th Avenue in a marked crosswalk, when he was struck by an eastbound silver Dodge SUV driven by a 49-year-old man.

Investigators found that neither person was impaired by drugs or alcohol.

There have been no citations issued or an arrest and the investigation is continuing.



This morning, Friday October 4, 2013, at 8:51 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the 15600 block of Southeast Division Street on the report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Officers arrived and located the victim, a male adult, suffering from traumatic injuries. He has been transported to a Portland hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver that struck the man remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Eastbound Division at 156th is closed to all vehicular traffic and will remain so for the next 1-2 hours. One lane of westbound traffic is also closed.
