UPDATE #3: Shooting at Holgate Transit Station Injures Two - Holgate Closed from 92nd to 96th Avenues.

Saturday morning's shooting investigation is now a homicide investigation.

15-year-old Abukar Madey died early Sunday morning at a Portland hospital. The Oregon State Medical Examiner performed an autopsy this morning and determined that he died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The other victim, 22-year-old Lucio Alejandro Ramirez-Navarro, aka Alex Ramirez, remains in a. Portland hospital recovering from his injuries.

The victims in this morning's shooting, a 15-year-old male and a 22-year-old male, remain in critical condition at Portland hospitals. The 15-year-old's injuries are described as life-threatening.

Street traffic and the MAX platform were both re-opened this morning shortly after 9:00 a.m.

At this point in the investigation there is no suspect information to share publicly and detectives continue to ask for the public's help with information.

The investigation into last night's shooting is continuing this morning.

Both victims remain in critical condition, one with life-threatening injuries. Their names and ages have not been confirmed at this time.

The MAX platform will reopen at some point this morning but there is not a firm time estimate.

On Friday October 11, 2013, at 11:56 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a shooting at the Holgate Transit Station, located in the 9300 block of Southeast Holgate.

Officers arrived and located a male suffering from several gunshot wounds at Southeast 92nd Avenue and Holgate Boulevard. The victim was transported to a Portland hospital by medical personnel for treatment to traumatic injuries. His present condition is not known.

Officers checking the area for a crime scene located a second gunshot victim on the stairs leading to the MAX platform. The second victim, also a male, was suffering from a head wound and was transported to a Portland hospital with traumatic, life-threatening injuries. His present condition is not known.

At this point, there is no suspect information to share.

The Holgate Transit Station is closed and MAX will not be stopping at this stop. Southeast Holgate Boulevard is also closed from 92nd to 96th Avenues as detectives and criminalists begin processing the scene for evidence.
