Lents Neighborhood Shooting Injures One - Gang Enforcement Team Investigating

This morning, Sunday October 27, 2013, at 1:22 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a shooting at Southeast 101st Avenue and Pardee Street.

Officers arrived in the area and located evidence of gunfire and spoke to several witnesses. As they were beginning to investigate the report, the officers learned that a gunshot victim had been dropped off at a nearby hospital. The victim was then transported from that hospital to a trauma hospital by ambulance.

The victim is a male in his late teens or early 20s and has serious, traumatic injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.

Based on preliminary information, police believe that the shooting is gang-related. The Gang Enforcement Team has responded and is continuing to investigate.

There is no suspect information and no further updates are anticipated this morning.
