This evening, Sunday October 27, 2013, at 8:34 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a pedestrian hit by a car on Southeast 148th Avenue, just south of Powell Boulevard.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, an adult male, who was suffering from traumatic but not life-threatening injuries. Witnesses told police that the car that struck the pedestrian fled the scene after the crash.

The victim was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim was walking along 148th Avenue northbound towards Powell Boulevard when he was struck by a northbound car driven by an unknown person. Witnesses told police that the car stopped momentarily then left the area northbound on 148th Avenue. There is not a sidewalk along 148th Avenue in the area of the crash, at Rhine Court.

The only vehicle description is a dark-colored older car.

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call the Traffic Division at (503) 823-2103.
