UPDATE: Pedestrian Hit by MAX - Transit Police Investigating

The person struck by a MAX train on Tuesday afternoon has been identified as 33-year-old Erin Pierce. She remains in a Portland hospital being treated for traumatic injuries.

The investigation into the incident is continuing and there are no further updates.

This evening, Tuesday November 5, 2013, at 6:50 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a person struck by an eastbound MAX train at Southwest 18th Avenue and Jefferson Street.

Officers and medical personnel located the victim who was suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim has been transported to a Portland hospital for treatment.

MAX in both directions is presently closed.

Transit Police and TriMet are investigating the incident.
