Homicide detectives and Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division are continuing to process the crime scene connected with this morning's triple shooting in Northeast Portland.
Northeast Broadway (including sidewalks and bike lanes), from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to 2nd Avenue, will remain closed for approximately three more hours as investigators process the crime scene. Alternate routes include using the Steel Bridge to cross the Willamette River or North to Russell Street, West to North Vancouver Avenue, then back South to Broadway.
The homicide victim has been tentatively identified as a 30-year-old male. The other two gunshot victims have been identified as a 44-year-old male and a 50-year-old female. These two victims remain at a Portland hospital recovering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on Sunday to determine the exact cause of death. After the autopsy, all names will be released.
Officers initially responding to the scene were met with a large, hostile crowd. Officers called for a citywide "code three" response, which means all available officers are to respond to the scene using lights and sirens.
No additional information is available at this time and investigators are still asking for witnesses to come forward with information.
