On Tuesday November 19, 2013, at 9:12 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to North Kerby Avenue and Farragut Street on the report of an armed robbery and attempted carjacking.

Officers contacted the 18-year-old male victims who told police that they were sitting in a parked car next to Farragut Park when two African American male suspects approached the car and asked for a cigarette. One victim opened the passenger side door and one of the suspects retrieved a handgun from his waistband and demanded both victims property.

The second suspect also displayed a handgun and one of the suspects tried to take the keys from the ignition but the key broke off in the ignition.

The suspects were last seen running westbound on North Terry Street.

Several officers, including a Police K-9 Unit, searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspects description. Both suspects are described as African American males, 18-20 years old, one with a red hoody and the other with a white hoody and both armed with handguns.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact Robbery detectives at (503) 823-0405.
