UPDATE: Security Officer at Portland Adventist Medical Center Stabbed by Patient - Suspect in Custody

The suspect in yesterday's stabbing was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon and booked into the Multnomah County Jail. 40-year-old Timothy Evanger was booked on charges of Assault in the Second Degree and Attempted Assault in the Second Degree.

This afternoon, Tuesday December 3, 2013, at 2:33 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to Portland Adventist Medical Center on the report that a security guard had been stabbed by a patient.

Officers arrived learned that the security guard suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound from the adult male patient and that the patient also suffered self-inflicted injuries during a struggle.

The patient has been restrained and is receiving medical attention for his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Assault detectives will be conducting an investigation.
