Multnomah County Deputy Struck by Vehicle - PPB Investigating

This afternoon, December 8th, 2013 at approximately 2:29 p.m., a Multnomah County Deputy assisting a motorist on the Freemont Bridge onramp to I-5 southbound was struck by a vehicle. The deputy, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was in the process of laying out flares for a stranded motorist.

Portland Police officers and Multnomah County Deputies responded to assist the deputy. The Portland Police Bureau is conducting the crash investigation. The investigation is ongoing. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in crash.

The Portland Police Bureau would like to remind motorists to drive carefully, especially when road conditions are slick.
