The woman killed last night, Vijay Dalton-Gibson, was incorrectly reported earlier as being 55 years old. She is 59 years old. The driver also was incorrectly listed as 59 years old and is actually 80 years old, as originally reported.

The Police Bureau regrets the error.

The woman killed last night has been identified as 59-year-old ViJay Dalton-Gibson. The driver has been identified as 80-year-old JeanAnn Thompson.

No citations have been issued and the investigation is continuing.

Traffic officers are continuing to investigate this afternoon's fatal pedestrian crash on Northeast Glisan Street.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian, a female in her late-50s, was in a marked crosswalk walking her dog at the time she was hit by a westbound vehicle, driven by an 80-year-old woman.

Medical personnel were unable to save the life of the victim. The victim's dog was not harmed during the crash.

Traffic officers do not believe that the driver was impaired by drugs or alcohol and she is cooperating with the investigation.

When the investigation is complete it will be forwarded to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office for review.

No charges or citations have been issued and the names of those involved will be released on Wednesday.

This afternoon, Tuesday December 17, 2013, at 3:05 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Northeast 117th Avenue and Glisan Street.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, an adult female possibly in her 40s or 50s. Medical personnel provided treatment at the scene but the victim did not survive her injuries.

The driver that struck the pedestrian has remained at the scene.

Northeast Glisan is closed in both directions for the crash investigation. Alternate routes include East Burnside Street, Southeast Stark Street and Northeast Halsey Street.

The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team (MCT) is responding to conduct a crash investigation.

Interested media may stage in the northeast corner of the Target store parking lot. PIO will be onscene in 30-45 minutes.

This is the 34th traffic-related fatality in Portland in 2013.
