Bicyclist Struck by a Vehicle in Northeast Portland's King Neighborhood

This evening, Wednesday December 18, 2013, at 8:53 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the intersection of North Skidmore Street and North Mallory Avenue on the report of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located bicyclist who was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The bicyclist was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. It does not appear the driver is under the influence of intoxicants.

Preliminary information indicates that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Skidmore Street and struck the bicyclist who was crossing Skidmore on Mallory riding northbound. There is a stop sign on Mallory at Skidmore.

No citations have been issued and there is no further information available.
