The Portland Police Bureau's WomenStrength and GirlStrength Programs are seeking community volunteers to teach girls and women self-defense skills.
WomenStrength and GirlStrength have a 34-year history of success and have trained more than 110,000 community members in the Portland area. Its holistic approach with volunteer self-defense instructors provides comprehensive and professional training to help girls and women feel strong and empowered.
The program is looking for volunteer instructors. No experience is necessary and women from all backgrounds, abilities and ages (must be over 18) are encouraged to apply.
The application deadline is January 31, 2014 for classes beginning on March 1, 2014.
