Crime Stoppers: "Short Stack Bandit" Wanted for 11 Portland Area Bank Robberies (Photo)

Portland Police Bureau Robbery detectives, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, are asking for the public's help in identifying a serial bank robbery suspect nicknamed the "Short Stack Bandit."

The "Short Stack Bandit" is believed to be responsible for 11 Portland Metro area bank robberies:

* October 9, 2013 at the U.S. Bank branch located at 4100 Northeast 122nd Avenue
* October 29, 2013 at the IQ Credit Union branch located at 7017 Northeast Vancouver Mall Drive in Vancouver, Washington
* November 7, 2013 at the Bank of the West branch located at 825 Northeast Hogan Drive in Gresham
* November 25, 2013 at the Wells Fargo bank branch located at 8334 North Denver Avenue
* November 27, 2013 at the U.S. Bank branch located at 300 East Powell Boulevard in Gresham
* December 3, 2013 at the Albina Community Bank branch located at 2002 Northeast MLK Jr. Boulevard
* December 3, 2013 at the Wells Fargo bank branch located at 5730 Northeast MLK Jr. Boulevard
* December 4, 2013 at the Umpqua Bank branch located at 1448 Northeast Weidler Street
* December 23, 2013 at the Albina Community Bank branch located at 5636 Northeast Sandy Boulevard
* January 2, 2014 at the Bank of the West branch located at 8135 Southeast Division Street
* January 4, 2014 at the Key Bank branch located at 14701 Southeast Division Street

Robbery detectives have nicknamed the suspect "Short Stack Bandit" and have released several surveillance images to assist the public in identifying him to police.

The "Short Stack Bandit" is described as a male Hispanic in his late 20s, 5'4" to 5'8" tall, 160 to 190 pounds, slight facial hair, usually wearing a baseball hat and a hoody.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and tipsters can remain anonymous.

The Oregon Financial Institutions Security Taskforce (FIST) is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect. FIST is a cooperative effort made up of representatives from banks, savings and loans, and credit unions, as well as representatives from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The purpose of FIST is to help reduce crimes committed against financial institutions in the state of Oregon. To be eligible for a FIST reward, tipsters cannot remain anonymous.
