This evening, Saturday February 1, 2014, at 8:50 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a traffic crash at Northeast 21st Avenue and Columbia Boulevard.

Officers and Portland Fire & Rescue personnel arrived and located a passenger car that stuck a power pole, knocking it and several others over. A passing tractor trailer got caught in the downed wires and came to a stop.

There are no injuries and firefighters are working to safely get the power shut down to allow the truck driver to get out of his vehicle.

Alcohol is not a factor in the crash.

Power is out in the area and PGE is en route to assist with repairs.

Columbia Boulevard is closed from 33rd Avenue to Columbia Way.

There is no estimate at this time when the road will open and power will be restored.
