On Sunday February 2, 2014, the Portland Police Bureau and the Oregon State Police combined efforts to keep the Portland Metro area safe from drunk drivers.

As a result of a collaborative enforcement effort, there were 15 persons arrested for DUII, numerous and traffic citations issued. Officers were happy to report no serious automobile crashes for the day.

Although just one person arrested for DUII is too much, the Portland Police Bureau and the Oregon State Police would like to thank motorists for exercising caution as they took part in Super Bowl Sunday festivities.

Please continue to find your designated drivers, drink responsibly, and remember buzzed driving is drunk driving.

Support zero tolerance for impaired driving by reporting impaired drivers to 9-1-1.
