UPDATE - North Precinct Investigating Report of a Fight and Stabbing Inside the Lloyd Center Mall

The victim in this afternoon's stabbing, a 16-year-old male, was treated and released at a Portland hospital. There is no additional suspect information but detectives do believe the stabbing is a gang-related incident.

This afternoon, Wednesday February 12, 2014, at 4:30 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Lloyd Center Mall on the report of a stabbing inside the mall.

As officers were en route to the scene, additional information was broadcast that the victim was on the lower level, inside the mall, near the Nordstroms entrance and the suspect ran away after the fight.

Officers located the male victim and requested medical personnel respond to treat what appears to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The limited suspect information is an African American male in his 20s, wearing a black jacket, red t-shirt, black pants, and white shoes.

Witnesses described to police that there was some kind of dispute leading up to the stabbing and it may be gang-related.
