The missing 9-year-old boy has been safely located in the 2700 block of West Powell Boulevard in Gresham and will be reunited with his family. Investigators are examining the possibility that the child remained on the TriMet bus as the family got off and walked away. An alert member of the community saw the boy walking and called 9-1-1.

###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW###

This afternoon, Sunday March 16, 2014, at 4:29 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the 7800 block of Southeast Powell Boulevard on the report of a missing child.

Officers arrived and attempted to speak with the child's parents, who are non-English speakers. Limited information at this point is that the 9-year-old boy got off a TriMet bus, sometime between 3:45 and 4:00 p.m., at Southeast 76th Avenue and Powell Boulevard with his parents and as they walked home, they lost sight of him. It is not known what direction the child may have walked away from his parents.

The boy's name is Nimetollah Hossein and he was last seen wearing a black jacket and brown pants. His hair is described as having olive-colored skin, a short "bowl cut" and he does not speak any English, only Farsi (Persian). He has only been in the United States for a short time and it is not likely he knows his way around the neighborhood.

A Missing Persons Unit detective is responding and officers are working to obtain a photo of Nimetollah to share publicly.

Anyone seeing Nimetollah is asked to call 9-1-1.

Updates will be provided as they become available.
