Man Arrested for Theft in Rose City Park Neighborhood After Demanding Money from Plaid Pantry (Photo)

Today, Tuesday March 25, 2014, at 10:52 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a robbery at the Plaid Pantry store, located at 6220 Northeast Sandy Boulevard.

As officers were enroute, additional information was broadcast that the suspect did not use or imply that he had a weapon, and that he walked westbound on Sandy Boulevard after getting money from the store.

Officers arrived in the area and began to establish a neighborhood perimeter to search for the suspect. Officers located the suspect in the bathroom at the Jack in the Box, located at Northeast 57th Avenue and Sandy Boulevard.

The suspect, 45-year-old Ivan Dyer, was taken into custody without incident.

Officers learned that Dyer entered the Plaid Pantry store and demanded money from the employee but did not use any weapons or make any threats.

Dyer was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of Theft in the Third Degree.
