UPDATE - Homicide Detectives Investigating the Death of a 44-Year-Old Man (Photo)

Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the stabbing death of a 44-year-old man dropped off at Portland Adventist Medical Center on Sunday morning.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner performed an autopsy this morning and determined that 44-year-old Victor "Todd" Howell died of a stab wound.

Detectives served a search warrant early this morning at 14630 Southeast Caruthers Street in connection with this investigation and believe that it is the location of the stabbing.

Detectives have authorized the release of a photo of Todd Howell to assist the public with helping solve this case.

There have been no arrests and there is no suspect information.

This morning, Sunday April 6, 2014, at 9:11 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to Portland Adventist Medical Center on the report that a 44-year-old man arrived by private car, suffering from a stab wound.

Officers arrived at the hospital and learned that the man died after medical staff was unable to save him.

Homicide detectives have been called to the hospital and are in the very early stages of a death investigation.

At this point, it is not known where the stabbing occurred and police are asking that anyone with information call the police non-emergency line at (503) 823-3333.
