Shots Fired Overnight in Northeast Portland's Vernon Neighborhood - No Reported Injuries

On Sunday April 6, 2014, at 7:28 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to multiple reports of gunshots heard in the area of Northeast 19th Avenue and Killingsworth Street.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted a witness who indicated that there was a large fight among some teenagers, next to Alberta Park, and one of the people in the group pointed a handgun into the air and fired some shots. After the shots, the crowd dispersed into the neighborhood.

Officers located evidence of gunfire on Northeast Jarret Street, between 18th and 19th Avenues. Officers also contacted a group of teenagers but they denied being involved in a fight.

No arrests were made and no victims called police.
