The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help in solving an armed robbery that occurred in the Madison South neighborhood of Northeast Portland.
On April 5, 2014, at 1:06 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the Cricket store, located at 8226 Northeast Fremont Street, on the report of an armed robbery.
Officers arrived and contacted the employee who told police that he locked the door to take the trash out and when he returned to the front door, the suspect was waiting to go inside.
Once inside, the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the employee. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the store and was last seen walking eastbound on foot.
Several officers checked the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s, 5'10" tall, gray hair, a purple bandana on his head, red & gray shirt, blue shorts, and black shoes, armed with a handgun.
