This afternoon, Monday April 28, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to Southeast 26th Avenue and Powell Boulevard on the report of a hit and run to a pedestrian.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the 14-year-old female victim suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment. The victim is a student at Cleveland High School.

Officers learned that the girl was walking southbound, crossing Powell Boulevard in a marked crosswalk (with the signal), when the driver turned from southbound 26th Avenue to westbound Powell Boulevard and struck her in the crosswalk.

The victim told police that the driver stopped down the street and motioned for the victim to come to her, but the victim was unable to get up and move so the driver got back into her car and drove away westbound on Powell.

The suspect vehicle is described as a gold-colored mid-size SUV, possibly a Lexus. The driver is described as a white female in her 40s, 5'3" to 5'4" tall, wearing dress slacks, a purple shirt with silver sequins, and black and silver hair.
