The pedestrian struck by a vehicle this morning on Southeast Division Street has been identified as 41-year-old Michael Jeffrey Meyers. He remains in a Portland hospital with serious but not believed to be life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the 1989 Honda Accord that struck Meyers has been identified as 48-year-old Danny Lee Harbick. Harbick was not impaired and cooperated fully with crash investigators.
Investigators learned that Harbick was driving eastbound on Division Street after leaving the Plaid Pantry at 112th Avenue, when he stuck Meyers who was in the roadway pushing shopping cart after stepping off the curb in front of the moving vehicle.
No citations have been issued and the crash remains under investigation.

This morning, Tuesday May 6, 2014, at 4:20 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Southeast Division Street at 113th Avenue.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the pedestrian, a male adult, suffering from serious and traumatic injuries. The man has been transported to a Portland hospital for treatment.
The driver involved in the crash has remained at the scene and is cooperative.
Traffic on Division Street at 113th Avenue is blocked in both directions as investigators process the crash scene.
Early morning commuters normally using Division may consider an alternate route of Powell Boulevard or Stark Street.
No additional updates are expected until later this morning.
