Ember Kimball has been safely located and has returned to her residence.

Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit are asking for the public's help in safely locating 10-year-old Ember Kimball, who was last seen near her foster residence, in the 16400 block of Southeast High Meadow Loop, at about 3:15 p.m. this afternoon, May 20, 2014.

Ember is believed to have run off voluntarily, and no foul play is suspected. However, Ember is considered especially vulnerable due to her young age.

Detectives are activating the "A Child Is Missing" (ACIM) emergency reverse phone notification system, which generates an automated recorded message to listed phone numbers within a particular geographic area, to alert residents and businesses to a missing endangered adult or child.

Ember is described as a white female, 10 years old, 4'5", weighing approximately 60 pounds. She has straight, shoulder-length brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a 1/4 sleeve-length, white T-shirt with faded writing, gray leggings, and she may be wearing or carrying a red cape. She left with a blue backpack with stars on it, that was packed full.

Anyone who knows of Ember's whereabouts is asked to immediately call 9-1-1. Anyone with additional, non-emergency information about this case is asked to contact Detective Mike Weinstein, at (503) 823-0446 or Mike.Weinstein@PortlandOregon.gov.
