The suspect, 29-year-old Gino Brown, was taken into custody by members of SERT and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.

Brown was charged with domestic violence charges of Strangulation, Assault in the Fourth Degree, Coercion, and Menacing (two counts).

Brown will be arraigned on Tuesday in Multnomah County Court.

This evening, Saturday May 24, 2014, at 9:04 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Southeast 155th Avenue on the report of a man inside a home threatening others with a firearm during a domestic violence incident.

Officers arrived in the area and learned that all occupants of the home were safely outside and that the armed man was alone inside the residence.

Numerous attempts to call into the home and the use of a loud speaker to gain the man's attention have not yielded a response. Residents on either side of the incident address have safely been evacuated.

The Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) are responding to the scene to safely address the situation.

Southeast Stark Street is blocked in both directions, from 153rd to 157th Avenues, so drivers are encouraged to use either Burnside Street or Division Street.

Interested media may respond to Southeast 153rd Avenue and Stark Street; however, the PIO is not responding to the scene.

This is an active tactical incident and no further information is available at this time.
