This evening, Thursday June 5, 2014, at 8:00 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Clackamas Street on the report that a group of teens assaulted two homeless people.

Several officers arrived in the area and located the victims, an adult male and an adult female, neither of whom needed medical attention. The victims and another homeless woman told police that they were walking along and encountered the group of teens where they had a brief conversation, which was non-confrontational.

After the groups separated, one of the teens shoved one of the homeless women to the ground without provocation. The homeless man came to her defense and was punched by one of the other teens. The teens ran out of the area after the assaults.

Several officers checked the neighborhood for the suspects but did not locate anyone matching their description.

The group of teens was described as African American males, ages 13 to the early-20s. The suspect that shoved the homeless women to the ground was described as the 13-year-old male, 5' tall, chunky build, short afro, wearing a blue t-shirt and carrying a black backpack.

Anyone with information about this group of teens is asked to contact North Precinct at (503) 823-5700.
