The Portland Police Bureau Youth Services Division, as well as all officers from all three precincts, will be providing added presence at Portland schools for the remainder of the school year to assure students, parents and teachers that they are in a safe environment for the remainder of the school year.

Schools within the City of Portland include the Portland School District, David Douglas School District, Parkrose School District, and some of the Reynolds School District.

There is no specific information or concerns about violence but after today's tragedy at Reynolds High School, the Portland Police Bureau is going to provide an extra layer of protection and presence for students and teachers.

Anyone seeing anything suspicious is asked to immediately call 9-1-1.
