58-Year-Old Man Arrested After Firing a Gunshot into His Yard During a Family Dispute (Photo)

On Tuesday June 10, 2014, at 7:15 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 4500 block of North Kerby Avenue on the report that an intoxicated man fried a gun outside his home.

Officers arrived and made contact with the home and the suspect, 58-year-old Charles Jay Johnson, came outside and was arrested without incident.

Officers learned that Johnson was intoxicated and involved in an argument with a family member when he fired a single round from a handgun into his yard.

There were no injuries and officers seized the handgun from the home.

Johnson was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on misdemeanor charges of Reckless Endangerment, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Discharging a Firearm in the City, and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.
