The victim in this case is Wyatt's step-father, not father-in-law as initially reported.

39-year-old Bradley Wyatt was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Assault in the First Degree (Domestic Violence), Assault in the Second Degree (Domestic Violence), Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of Methadone, and Menacing (Domestic Violence).

Wyatt struck his step-father in the head with a machete, causing serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Wyatt will be arraigned on Monday in Multnomah County Court.

After long negotiations by the Crisis Negotiation Team, the adult male suspect in this case surrendered to SERT officers and is now in custody.

He will be booked later today on assault charges.

This evening, Saturday June 14, 2014, at 8:27 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 10200 block of North Midway Avenue to investigate a reported domestic violence incident.

Officers arrived in the area made contact at the residence with the male suspect and he is refusing to come outside and talk to police. The suspect is believed to be armed and alone in the home.

The Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) are responding to assist North Precinct in safely resolving this incident.

Responding media may stage on the South side of North Columbia Boulevard at Midway Avenue (best access from the South on Midway Avenue).

PIO is enroute, ETA 30 minutes.
