Gang Enforcement Team Arrests a 16-Year-Old Male for Gang-Related Shooting in May 2014

On Friday June 13, 2014, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) served a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Northeast 75th Avenue as part of a Gang Enforcement Team (GET) investigation.

16-year-old Devante Levelle Jackson was arrested at the home and booked into the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home (JDH) on charges of Attempted Aggravated Murder, Attempted Murder, Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. A handgun was seized from the residence.

Jackson's charges are the result of an investigation into a shooting in the 400 block of Southeast 127th Avenue that occurred on May 24, 2014 at 7:09 p.m.

Investigators collected evidence and spoke to witnesses at the scene, which ultimately led to Devante Jackson being identified as the suspect in the shooting.

The Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team and Gun Task Force are continuing to actively investigate gang and gun crimes in the City of Portland.
