North Precinct Investigating Two Reported Shootings - No Known Victims

This afternoon, Friday June 20, 2014, at 12:40 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a shooting at Northeast 81st Avenue and Fremont Street.

As officers were en route to the area, additional information was broadcast that a man fired several shots at occupants of a vehicle and that both the suspect and the vehicle left the area.

Officers checked the area for both the suspect and the vehicle but neither was located in the area. The suspect was described as an African American male in his 20s, medium build, short hair, carrying a handgun. The vehicle is described as a black newer foreign car.

No crime scene was located in the area.

At 12:52 p.m., officers received information about a second shooting at Northeast 45th Avenue and Broadway.

As officers were en route to the area, additional information was broadcast that the suspect ran through a Department of Human Services building and out of the area.

The caller also left the area and no gunshot victims or evidence of a second shooting was located.

Several officers checked the area but did not locate the suspect, described as a light-skinned African American male, 18-19 years old, 5'6" tall, and a stocky build.

At this point in the investigation, it is not clear if these two incidents are related and police would like to hear from anyone with information about either or both incidents.
