Gang Enforcement Team Investigating a Driveby Shooting at Mt. Scott Park - No Known Injuries

This evening, Monday June 23, 2014, at 9:38 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding shots fired at Mt. Scott Park, located at Southeast 72nd Avenue and Harold Street.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted several witnesses who told police that someone fired multiple rounds into the park from a vehicle along the 74th Avenue side of the park. Witnesses told police that there were 40 to 50 teens and kids in the park at the time of the shooting. Many of the kids left the park before officers arrived in the area.

At this point, no gunshot victims have been located and none have arrived at any Portland hospitals.

Evidence of gunfire was found along the 74th Avenue side of the park. At this point, there is no confirmed suspect information to share with the public.

Based on preliminary information, the Gang Enforcement Team is responding to the scene to conduct an investigation.

The Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team and Gun Task Force are continuing to actively investigate gang and gun crimes in the City of Portland.
