Thief Arrested for 24 Felony Crimes After Stealing More than $25,000 in Gasoline (Photo)

On Thursday August 8, 2014, the Portland Police Bureau arrested a man suspected of stealing more than $25,000 in gasoline in the Portland area.

39-year-old Christopher Scott Beard was identified by police after surveillance video from one of the thefts captured images of the suspect and the truck he was using to steal gasoline.

Beard would fill a 300 gallon tank in the back of the truck with gasoline, using a stolen credit card at various locations throughout Portland.

Police first located the truck then located Beard and arrested him on several charges.

Beard was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on 12 counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and 12 counts of Theft in the First Degree.
