The individual struck attempting to cross I-405 is believed to have non-life-threatening injuries at this time. Investigators have learned that he was struck attempting to cross I-405 on foot after his vehicle ran out of gas. I-405 is now open in both directions.

###ORIGINAL MESSAGE###

Today, August 9, 2014, at 5:58 p.m., Central Precinct officers received a call regarding a pedestrian struck on the I-405 freeway near Glisan Street. The pedestrian, an adult male, was on foot attempting to cross the freeway. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries are not know at this time. Officers have arrived and are conducting an investigation. I-405 is currently close. The investigation is ongoing.
