North Precinct officers respond to robbery

Today, August 11, 2014, at 5:48 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a robbery at the Plaid Pantry at 6510 N. Greeley Avenue. Officers are still investigating the incident but early reports indicate that a male black, in his 20's, about 5'8" tall with a slim build entered the location and demanded money. No weapons was displayed and the suspect fled the location with money and other items taken from the location. Officers are currently searching for the suspect.

The PPB is exploring the possibility that these robberies are related to other similar robberies which have been reported.

While these cases are under investigation we would like the public to be cognizant of suspicious persons in the areas near convenience stores. If the public witnesses a suspicious person or event and it is ongoing they are asked to call 911. If the event is not ongoing please call non-emergency at 503-823-3333. Anyone with information about these robberies is asked to call the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division at 503-823-0400.
