Detectives will be continuing the investigation.

This morning, Sunday August 31, 2014, at 9:18 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the 11300 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard on the report that a woman had been held against her will overnight in a nearby motel room.

Officers arrived and contacted the woman who provided police some details about the circumstances leading to her being held in the nearby room, located at the R & R Motel in the 11700 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard.

Detectives responded to assist officers with the investigation, which led to a specific room at the motel.

Officers have been attempting to make contact with the known suspect in the room but have had no response.

A very limited contingent of the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) is responding to assist investigators with checking the room for the suspect, who may be armed according to the victim.

The victim is uninjured and at this point there is no reason to believe the greater public is at risk.

Traffic in the 11700 block of Sandy Boulevard may be affected as this investigation continues.
