The Portland Police Bureau has a new app available to better connect the community with the police.
The app is available for both Apple and Android phones and brings together several important links and social media pages into one easy place.
* News Releases
* Crime Maps
* Crime Stoppers of Oregon
* Crime Prevention
* Official Portland Police Bureau Webpage
The app was developed by MobilePD who has also developed similar apps for the following police agencies:
* Mesa (AZ) Police Department
* Atlanta (GA) Police Department
* Palo Alto (CA) Police Department
* Victoria (BC) Police Department
"We are extremely excited to welcome the Portland Police Bureau to the MobilePD family," said Kushyar Kasraie, CEO of MobilePD. "It's our strong belief that this partnership will lead to a safer and more engaged Portland community and we can't wait to see the results."
The app is free to download and is designed to enhance the flow of information to and from the community.
"The Police Bureau actively reaches out to community members through social media and other avenues to talk about crime and provide public safety alerts, what officers are doing in their neighborhood and other Bureau news," said Chief Lawrence P. O'Dea III. "This app is a way for people to access all of these channels under one umbrella as well as provide feedback to the Independent Police Review Division. In today's modern policing world, we want to be connecting with the community not only in person, but in the places where people are more likely to access our information, such as their smartphone."
