Drunk Driver, Armed with Multiple Firearms Arrested after Nearly Crashing into a Police Car (Photo)

On Saturday August 1, 2015, at 8:25 p.m., Gang Enforcement Team (GET) officers stopped a red 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV, driven by 36-year-old Sabahudin Nuhanovic, after he crossed into oncoming traffic, nearly striking their patrol car on Southeast Powell Boulevard near 137th Avenue.

As officers made contact with Nuhanovic, he reached for his waistband several times before officers were able to get him into custody. During a search, officers located an unloaded handgun in Nuhanovic's waistband. During a search of Nuhanovic's vehicle, officers located and seized another handgun, a shotgun, and ammunition.

Officers determined that Nuhanovic was under the influence of alcohol. Nuhanovic was booked on charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (two counts), Reckless Driving, and Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII). He'll be arraigned on Monday.
