04/18/2014 47-Year-Old Sex Offender Arrested Wednesday for March 2014 Sexual Assault (Photo)

Portland Police Sex Crimes Detectives, assisted by officers from the Sex Offender Registration Detail (SORD) and Central Precinct, arrested 47-year-old Clarence Ray Williams on Wednesday in connection with a March 2014 sexual assault.

This investigation started on March 11, 2014, when the 20-year-old female victim called 9-1-1 to report that a stranger sexually assaulted her near the stairs at the East end of the Steel Bridge.*-..

This evening, Thursday April 17, 2014, at 9:42 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Greenleaf Springs Apartments, located in the 4200 block of Northeast 125th Place, after multiple reports of gunshots heard in the area.

Officers arrived in the area and located evidence of gunfire and two apartments that were hit with bullets.*-..

04/17/2014 Second Suspect Booked in Connection with Wednesday Morning Shooting of a Police Officer and Canine in Southwest Portland (Photo)

25-year-old Jemaell Diamond Dominique Riley was released from a Portland hospital this afternoon and was booked into the Multnomah County Jail this evening on multiple felony charges.

Riley has been charged with Attempted Kidnapping in the First Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping in the First Degree, Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in the First Degree, and two counts of Burglary in the First Degree.

20-year-old Steven Alan Young, already in jail on a charge of Burglary in the First Degree, will face additional charges of Attempted Kidnapping in the First Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping in the First Degree, Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in the First Degree.

Both Young and Riley will be arraigned in Multnomah County Court on Friday April 18, 2014.

20-year-old Paul Alan Ropp will face charges after he is released from a Portland hospital, expected to be within a few days.*-..

04/17/2014 Portland Police K-9 Officer Available for Media Interviews on Friday (Photo)

On Friday April 18, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., Portland Police K-9 Officer Shawn Gore and his canine partner Jasko (pronounced "Yah-skow") will be at the K-9 Unit to answer general media questions about the unit, K-9 training and the impact the shooting of Officer Jeff Dorn and his canine partner Mick.

Officer Gore is a 21-year veteran of the Police Bureau and a long-time member of the K-9 Unit.
The K-9 Unit is located at 4735 East Burnside Street.

Several members of the community have asked if there is a donation fund for the K-9 Unit.*-..
