11/20/2014 Suspect Arrested After Hit and Run and Pursuit into Downtown Portland (Photo)

On Wednesday November 19, 2014, at 10:00 p.m., Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the 23800 block of Northeast Holladay Street on the report of a hit and run to a vehicle and property.

As deputies were en route to the scene, additional information was received that the suspect vehicle, a gray Honda coupe, was leaving eastbound on Holladay Street.

Deputies spotted the vehicle westbound on I-84 and pursued the vehicle for a brief time but backed away as the suspect accelerated to a high rate of speed.

Portland Police officers began following the vehicle on I-84 westbound and followed it until the suspect vehicle exited off of I-405 at Salmon Street.*-..

On Wednesday November 19, 2014, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue (SAR) volunteers located the body of 70-year-old John Lloyd Scott in the area of Southeast Flavel and Knapp Streets, East of I-205 near Johnson Creek.

John was reported missing by family late Monday night after he failed to return from a trip to Clackamas Town Center.*-..

11/18/2014 Sex Offender Arrested for Two Sexually Related Criminal Incidents in Downtown Portland (Photo)

On Monday November 17, 2014 at 1:45 p.m., on the second floor of Lincoln Hall, Portland State University Campus Public Safety Officers arrested 33-year-old James Ray McNeil after receiving a report that McNeil was publicly masturbating, while in close proximity to a female student.

After a brief struggle with Campus Public Safety Officers, McNeil was taken into custody.
McNeil has no affiliation with Portland State University and is not a student.

McNeil was identified by Portland Police as a suspect in a sex crime that had been reported earlier that morning at the Estate Hotel, located at 225 Northwest Couch Street.*-..

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue (SAR) team is beginning to search for missing 70-year-old John Lloyd Scott.

The Missing Persons Unit is asking the public who lives and works in Southeast Portland's Lents Neighborhood to keep an eye out for John and to immediately report any sightings to 9-1-1.

The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help to locate missing 70-year-old John Lloyd Scott.

John was last seen at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Monday November 17, 2014, when relatives dropped him off at the Holgate MAX platform to go to Clackamas Town Center (a normal routine). John lives in the 11000 block of Southeast Holgate Boulevard.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., John called his nephew to say that he was lost "near the bike trail" and that he was going to sit down on the grass to rest.*-..

11/18/2014 Crime Stoppers Featured Case #14-47 Southwest Portland Burglaries (Photo)

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help in solving multiple residential burglaries in Southwest Portland.

On Saturday October 25, 2014, a Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputy responded to the report of a residential burglary at 5054 Southwest Hilltop Lane.

Deputies spoke with the victim who told police that the burglary occurred while they were away for dinner, between 7:30 and 9:00 p.m.

The suspect or suspects broke into the residence by throwing a large concrete plant pot through a bay window.

The victim estimates the total loss to be nearly $100,000 worth of jewelry and causing approximately $5,000 in damage.

The following Saturday, November 1, 2014, a Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputy responded to another burglary at 5044 Southwest Hilltop Lane, a few houses down from the first victim.

Entry was made by breaking out the window on a rear French door.

The victim estimates the total loss to be nearly $15,000 worth of jewelry and prescription medications and causing approximately $5,000 in damage.

At this point there is no suspect information in either of these cases.*-..
