05/04/2015 Gang Enforcement Team Arrests Suspect in March Gang Shooting (Photo)

On Saturday May 2, 2015, Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team (GET) detectives arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the March 9, 2015 gang shooting on Southeast 125th Place, South of Division Street.

Antonio Ruelas-Ceja was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.

Search warrants were also served at two residences: 4620 Southeast 122nd Avenue, Apartment 304; and, 10504 Southeast Pardee Street.

Investigators seized four handguns during the search warrants.

This investigation started on March 9, 2015, at 12:03 a.m., when East Precinct officers responded to the report of a shooting in the area of Southeast 125th Place and Division Street.*-..

04/30/2015 May Day Events and Demonstrations Tomorrow in Downtown Portland

On Friday May 1, 2015, there is scheduled to be a May Day celebration and march in Downtown Portland.

The May Day celebration, organized by the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC), is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at Shemanski Park, located at Southwest Park Avenue and Main Street.

The attendees at the celebration are expected to begin a permitted march beginning at approximately 4:30 p.m. and are expected to wind through Downtown Portland along the following route:

Southbound on Park Avenue to Madison Street
Eastbound Park Avenue to 4th Avenue
Northbound 4th Avenue to Salmon Street
Eastbound Salmon Street to 3rd Avenue
Southbound 3rd Avenue to Madison Street
Eastbound Madison Street to 2nd Avenue
Northbound 2nd Avenue to Burnside Street
Westbound Burnside Street to Broadway
Southbound Broadway to Main Street
Westbound Main Street to Shemanski Park

The Portland Police Bureau will have officers assisting with the march so that there is minimal impact to Downtown commuters.*-..
