06/24/2016 Drug Arrest Leads to the Seizure of Suspected Stolen Bicycles (Photo)

On Tuesday June 21, 2016, officers assigned to the Central and North Precinct Street Crimes Units arrested 39-year-old Wesley Christopher Ferron for numerous drug charges and also seized several thousand dollars in suspected stolen bicycles and bike frames.

Ferron was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Delivery of Heroin, Possession of Heroin, Delivery of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Oxycodone, Identity Theft, and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Officers developed information that Ferron was involved in the distribution of heroin and methamphetamine in the City of Portland and developed probable cause to arrest him on Tuesday afternoon.*-..

06/24/2016 Traffic Division, Union Pacific Railroad Issue Several Citations During Safety Mission in CEID

On Thursday June 23, 2016, Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division officers, in partnership with the Union Pacific Railroad Police Department, conducted a joint traffic safety mission in the Central Eastside Industrial District (CEID), specific to railroad crossings.

The effort came about due to complaints from the railroad about drivers and pedestrians not stopping for railroad crossing arms as well as pedestrians crossing over and under slow-moving rail traffic.

During the enforcement and awareness mission, officers focused on the area from Southeast Stark to Clinton Streets, Water to 12th Avenues.

During the 2.5 hour mission, from 5:15 to 7:45 p.m., officers issued 12 citations to drivers, four citations to pedestrians and one written warning to a pedestrian.*-..
