10/02/2015 UPDATE - Child Struck by Driver on North Lombard Street - Major Crash Team Investigating (Photo)

The injured child remains at a Portland hospital and is expected to survive her injuries.

Investigators have learned that the child got off of an eastbound TriMet bus and ran northbound across Lombard where she was hit by a westbound driver who was unable to stop in time.

No citations have been issued and the case remains under investigation.



On Friday October 2, 2015, at 8:24 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a child struck by a driver in a vehicle in the 3200 block of North Lombard Street.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and began treating the child, estimated to be an 11-year-old girl.*-..

10/01/2015 Overlook Neighborhood Plaid Pantry Store Robbed Overnight - No Injuries (Photo)

On Thursday October 1, 2015, at 1:45 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Plaid Pantry store, located at 2010 North Killingsworth Street, on the report of an armed robbery.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the employee who told police that three men entered the store, one armed with a handgun, and robbed the store of cash, cigarettes and food.

The victim told police that the suspects left the store in an unknown direction.

The suspects were described as three African American males wearing dark clothing.

Several officers checked the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspects descriptions.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Robbery detectives at 503-823-0405.

The Portland Police Bureau is extending condolences to the families and friends of those injured and killed today at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon.

At the direction of Chief Lawrence P. O'Dea III, Assistant Chief of Operations Bob Day has asked that all precincts to provide an increased law enforcement presence at school campuses in the City of Portland to provide a visible presence and to enhance public safety.

There is no information to indicate there are any threats to Portland schools related to the tragic events in Roseburg.*-..

Reginald Lewis has returned home and is no longer a missing person.



The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help to locate 62-year-old Reginald Dean Lewis, missing since approximately 3:00 p.m. today.

Lewis was last seen at a medical appointment at the V.A. Hospital at 11:00 a.m. this morning, then missed a 3:00 p.m. cab that was to drive him home in Southeast Portland.

Lewis has medical problems that, if left unchecked, could endanger his life.

Lewis is described as an African American male, 5'7" tall, 180 pounds, possibly wearing glasses, last seen wearing a dark gray matching sweatshirt and sweat pants.*-..

10/01/2015 UPDATE: Power Wheelchair Stolen in Southeast Portland's Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood (Photo)

East Precinct officers returned the stolen power wheelchair to its owner last night after a neighborhood resident found it a few blocks from the victim's residence.

The Bureau would like to thank the public for its attention to this case.



On Wednesday September 30, 2015, at 9:28 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 4800 block of Southeast 122nd Avenue on the report of the theft of a power wheelchair.

Officers arrived and spoke to the victim's caregiver and translator who told police that the wheelchair was stolen sometime over the weekend from outside the residence.*-..
