06/17/2016 Shooting Investigation Underway on Powell Boulevard - One Person Injured

On Friday June 17, 2016, at 5:27 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a shooting in the area of Southeast 118th Avenue and Powell Boulevard.

As officers were responding to the area, 9-1-1 callers reported vehicles speeding out of the area and that a possible victim was inside one of the vehicles.

Officers arrived in the area but did not locate any gunshot victims.*-..

On Friday June 17, 2016, at 12:40 p.m., Transit Police Division officers responded to the Overlook Transit Station on the report that someone had been assaulted on a MAX train and that an involved male subject got off the train and left the area.

06/16/2016 Stranger Attempts to Lure 14-Year-Old Girl into Car in Southeast Portland

On Thursday June 16, 2016, at 11:41 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to Floyd light Middle School, located at 10800 Southeast Washington Street, on the report that a student was reporting that a stranger tried to get her into a car.

Officers arrived in the area and spoke with the 14-year-old girl who told police that she was walking on Southeast 100th Avenue, between Main and Market Streets, when a car pulled up behind her and the driver yelled out for her to get into the car.

The victim told police that she did not know the man and that she reached for her cell phone and ran away, and that the driver pulled away and was last seen driving southbound on 100th Avenue.

The victim described the man as a clean-cut white male in his 40s, driving a dark gray sedan that was clean and in good shape.

The victim told police that the driver never got out of his car and never touched her.

The description of the man and the vehicle does not match any other known incidents.

Anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Police Non-Emergency Line at 503-823-3333.
