09/09/2016 One Booked, Two Cited for Various Crimes During Downtown Portland Demonstration (Photo)

In the afternoon hours of Friday September 9, 2016, several hundred demonstrators took to the streets in Downtown Portland, causing significant traffic problems in the Downtown core.

During the demonstration, projectiles were thrown at officers, at least one police car was damaged as well as a private citizen's vehicle, and some demonstrators intimidated and threatened members of the public.

During the several hours' long demonstration that moved throughout Downtown Portland, officers identified and arrested three people for committing criminal acts during the demonstration.

27-year-old James Mathew Mattox was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, Interfering with a Peace Officer and Harassment.

Two other men were given criminal citations to appear in court.*-..

The suspect, 48-year-old Tony Lamont Brown, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail early this morning on charges of Attempted Murder/Domestic Violence, Robbery in the First Degree, Burglary in the First Degree/Domestic Violence (two counts), Menacing/Domestic Violence, and Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon.

Brown will be arraigned in Multnomah County Court today.

On Wednesday September 7, 2016, at 5:14 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Salpare Bay Marina, located at 11505 Northeast Yacht Harbor Drive, on the report that marina security encountered a man who claimed to have explosives in a truck.
