01/17/2014 19-Year-Old Woman Arrested for January 2 Crash into Southeast Portland Plaid Pantry Store (Photo)

On Thursday January 16, 2014, Traffic Division investigators arrested a 19-year-old woman on several charges in connection with the January 2, 2014 crash into a Southeast Portland Plaid Pantry store.

19-year-old Monique Ann Cortez-Munos turned herself in to police at Central Precinct on Thursday afternoon and was booked into the Multnomah County Jail for three counts of Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Hit and Run) and Reckless Driving.

This investigation started on January 2, 2014, at 4:18 a.m., when East Precinct officers responded to the Plaid Pantry store, located at 6440 Southeast 82nd Avenue, on the report that a vehicle crashed through the front doors of the store then backed out and fled the scene, striking two cars that were parked in the 8100 block of Southeast Tolman Street.

Cortez-Munos left her crashed car at the scene then fled the area on foot.*-..
