03/26/2013 Central Precinct Officers Arrest Suspected Bank Robber on Monday Afternoon

On Monday March 25, 2013, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the Bank of America branch located at 517 Southwest Stark Street on the report of a bank robbery. Officers arrived in the area and contacted the bank, where they learned that the suspect did not use a weapon and left the bank without any money. Officers checking the area located a man matching the suspect's description at Southwest 3rd Avenue and Washington Street where they took him into custody without incident. Officers confirmed that the man detained was the suspect and turned the investigation over to Portland Police Robbery Detectives. The suspect, 48-year-old Anthony Leman Rhone, was booked into jail for a parole violation and a Federal hold.*-..
