02/27/2013 Portland Police Arrest Two Men After Drug Overdose Death of Portland Woman

Portland Police Drugs and Vice (DVD) officers arrested two men in connection with the drug overdose death of a 60-year-old North Tabor neighborhood woman. Officers arrested 38-year-old Herbert Walter Miller and 68-year-old Stephen Thomas Frias and booked them into the Multnomah County Jail. This investigation started on Monday February 25, 2013, at 11:06 p.m., when Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to a residence in the 4500 block of East Burnside Street on the report of a possible overdose death. Officers learned that the deceased woman, 60-year-old Karen Sue Osborne, had a drug problem and purchased pills using her cell phone. Utilizing evidence gathered at the scene, DVD officers were able to make two arrests in connection with drug distribution. DVD officers recovered a quantity of various prescription pills and eleven firearms from the home of Stephen Frias.*-..

On February 27, 2013, at 11:30 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct assisted the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force with locating a wanted subject, 34-year-old James David Tautfest at the Travelodge Motel, located at 3828 Northeast 82nd Avenue. 02/28/2013 Portland Police Continuing to Seek Public Help Solving a Hit and Run to a Pedestrian

Portland Police Bureau Traffic officers are asking for the public's help locating a vehicle possibly involved in a February 23, 2013 hit and run to a pedestrian in Southeast Portland. Officers are seeking information about a dark-colored 2005-2007 Ford Escape SUV, which should be missing its driver's side mirror and would have minor damage along the driver's side front and side of the vehicle. Pictures of a similar vehicle are being released to assist the public in identifying the vehicle type.*-..

02/28/2013 Gun Task Force Arrests 2 People - Recovers a Handgun, Drugs and Money

On Wednesday February 27, Portland Police officers assigned to the Gun Task Force and Gang Enforcement Team arrested two individuals in connection with an ongoing investigation by the Gun Task Force. 21-year-old Gustavo Isabel Vega was arrested on charges of Delivery and Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Heroin, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Endangerment, Menacing (Domestic Violence), and a Probation Violation on an original charge of Burglary in the First Degree. 33-year-old Kathleen Olinger was arrested for an outstanding Federal warrant for Identity Theft. The arrests occurred in the parking lot of the Gresham Fred Meyer and search warrants were served at two locations after the arrests: 2497 Southeast Burnside Road in Gresham; and, 38679 Dubarko Road in Sandy. Officers seized a .22 caliber handgun, approximately 3 grams of heroin and $600 in cash. Vega and Olinger were booked into the Multnomah County Jail.*-..

02/28/2013 Central Precinct Officers Recover Multiple Stolen Bicycles - Suspect Arrested

Today, Thursday February 28, 2013, at 7:51 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to bike patrol received a call from the Biltmore Hotel, located at 310 Northwest 6th Avenue, on the report that management evicted a man and in the process of cleaning the room found that it was filled with bicycles and associated parts. Officers identified 16 bicycles that were suspected stolen and seized all the bicycles, frames, and boxes of parts.*-..
