04/22/2013 SERT Responding to Southeast Portland for a Wanted Subject

The Portland Police Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) is responding to the area of Southeast 31st and Powell Boulevard to assist Central Precinct officers on a wanted subject call. The focus of the investigation is the Motel 6, located at 3104 Southeast Powell Boulevard, and police are evacuating rooms at the motel. Southeast Powell Boulevard is completely closed to all traffic from 33rd to 28th Avenues. Media staging will be on the West side of the perimeter on Powell Boulevard. 04/21/2013 UPDATE: Portland Police Investigating Stabbing of TriMet Bus Operator in Southeast Portland's Lents Neighborhood

Portland Police officers searching the Lents neighborhood last night did not locate the suspect involved in stabbing a TriMet bus operator, identified as 35-year-old Brian Nixon. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Assault Detail at (503) 823-0400. ###PPB### ###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW### This evening, Saturday April 20, 2013, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of a stabbing at Southeast 92nd Avenue and Flavel Street. As officers were enroute they learned that the victim was a TriMet bus operator and that the suspect ran into the neighborhood after the stabbing. Officers arrived in the area and contacted the victim, an adult male, who told police that he was using the portable restroom for TriMet when he heard banging on the door.*-..

The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who stole a woman's credit cards in Southeast Portland. On Saturday March 30, 2013, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Portland Police officers from East Precinct contacted a woman who told police that her credit cards had been stolen. This evening, Thursday April 18, 2013, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the report of a man firing gunshots into the air at North Lombard Street and Ida Avenue. As officers were enroute to the scene an update was provided that the suspect fired his gun until it was empty then dropped the gun on the ground.
