07/26/2015 Shooting Investigation Underway After Man Arrives at Portland Hospital with Non-Life-Threatening Gunshot Wound (Photo)

On Sunday July 26, 2015, at 9:24 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a that a 30-year-old man arrived at Portland Adventist Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Based on the investigation thus far, officers believe the victim was injured in a shooting that occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m., near North Columbia Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr.*-..

07/26/2015 UPDATE - ARREST: Shooting Investigation Underway in Southeast Portland's Centennial Neighborhood - No Known Injuries (Photo)

Gang Enforcement Team (GET) investigators arrested 24-year-old Aaron Deon Kinsey early this morning after a six hour standoff at his residence.

Kinsey's arrest comes as a result of an investigation into a shooting on Saturday evening in the 1300 block of Southeast 160th Place.

GET investigators were able to develop information that Kinsey was the shooter and that he was inside his home in the 1300 block of Southeast 160th Place.

Officers made numerous attempts to persuade Kinsey to exit the home and surrender to police.*-..

07/25/2015 Gang Enforcement Team Investigating Two Reports of Gunfire Early Saturday Morning in North Portland (Photo)

On Saturday July 25, 2015, at approximately 4:10 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of gunfire in the area of North Kerby Avenue and Willis Boulevard.

As officers were responding to the area, witnesses reported seeing a crowd of 10 to 15 gang members wearing red in a parking lot and several cars leaving the area.

Shortly after officers arrived, police heard several more gunshots to the southeast of their location, off in the distance.

Callers to 9-1-1 reported seeing a vehicle drive by Javier's Tacos, located at North Vancouver Avenue and Lombard Street.

Officers responded to Javier's and located evidence of gunfire and damage to a window at Javier's.

No gunshot victims were located at either location nor arrived at any Portland area hospitals.

The Gang Enforcement Team (GET) responded to conduct an investigation into both incidents, which are believed to be related.

The Tactical Operations Division is continuing to investigate several incidents of gun violence citywide.*-..

26-year-old Joshua Shirey was safely located Friday evening and is receiving medical care.



The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help to locate a 26-year-old man reported missing on July 22, 2015.

26-year-old Joshua Allen Shirey is described as a white male, 5'11" tall, 145 pounds, hazel eyes, clean shaven, hair approximately 2" long (photo is an older driver's license picture).

Shirey was last seen in the area of Northeast 102nd Avenue and Halsey Street on or about July 17.*-..

Missing 11-year-old Alanna Diego was located safely overnight and has returned home.



The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help to locate a missing 11-year-old girl, last seen this afternoon at 1:45 p.m.

Alanna Diego is described as a female Pacific Islander, 5'1" tall, 130 pounds, stocky build, long waist-length hair in a ponytail, last seen wearing a solid blue tank top and shorts.

Alanna left her residence in area of Southeast 145th Avenue and Division Street on foot and did not return.*-..

07/24/2015 Central Precinct Street Crimes Unit Seizes Large Quantity of Heroin, Two Vehicles and $85,000 Cash - One Man Arrested (Photo)

On Thursday July 23, 2015, Central Precinct Street Crimes Unit (SCU) officers arrested 36-year-old Neil Mackenzie Shaw after an investigation into heroin distribution on the streets of Portland.

Shaw was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Manufacturing, Delivery and Possession of Heroin, as well as four misdemeanor drug charges.

Officers served a search warrant at Shaw's residence, located in the 800 block of Northeast 22nd Avenue.*-..

07/23/2015 UPDATE: Hit and Run Investigation Underway in Southeast Portland's Mill Park Neighborhood

Yesterday's hit and run victim, 48-year-old Kevin McNerney, remains in critical condition at a Portland hospital.

Detectives are asking for the public's help to locate a dark-colored 2012 or 2013 Chevrolet Equinox SUV with yellow Oregon plates.

The man injured in this hit and run remains in a Portland hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Based on the investigation thus far, this incident is being investigated as a potential assault rather than just a hit and run and, due to the man's medical condition, Homicide detectives are leading the investigation.

Nobody has been arrested and there is no additional information regarding the suspect vehicle or driver.

On Wednesday July 22, 2015, at 1:24 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a hit and run in the Taco Bell parking lot, located at Southeast 126th Avenue and Division Street.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located a male adult suffering from traumatic injuries.*-..
