09/04/2014 CORRECTION: Man Who Exposed Himself to 5-Year-Old on TriMet Scheduled to Plead Guilty and Sentenced to Nearly 3 years in Prison (Photo)

52-year-old Karl Deickmiller is scheduled to plead guilty today, but has not yet arrived in court.

The Bureau regrets the error in the previous release.



On the morning of July 7, 2014, Transit Police Division officers responded to Southwest 5th Avenue and Columbia Street on a report that a male had exposed himself to a woman and her 5-year-old daughter on a TriMet bus.

The investigating officer provided photographs of the suspect from the TriMet security video cameras on the bus to the news media.

A Multnomah County Parole and Probation Officer and a Portland Police Officer assigned to the Sex Offender Registration Detail (SORD) recognized the suspect, which ultimately resulted in his identification.

On July 11, 2014, officers from the Transit Police arrested the suspect, 52-year-old Karl Deickmiller, a resident of Downtown Portland.

In subsequent interviews with police, Deickmiller admitted to intentionally exposing himself to minor females while riding TriMet.*-..

On Tuesday September 2, 2014, at 9:19 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Southwest Montgomery Drive on the report of a burglary.

Officers arrived and were directed to the laundry room of the condominium complex, where the suspect was taken into custody.

Officers learned that the suspect walked into a residence through the garage and stole a laptop and car keys, then was trying to open car doors using the keys.*-..

09/03/2014 UPDATE - ARREST: North Precinct Officers Investigating a Robbery at Fairley's Pharmacy - Suspect in Custody (Photo)

29-year-old David Vikrum Hansen was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of Robbery in the Second Degree.



This afternoon, Tuesday September 2, 2014, at 2:08 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to Fairley's Pharmacy, located at 7226 Northeast Sandy Boulevard, on the report of an armed robbery.

As officers were en route to the location, information was updated that the suspect left on foot and was walking southbound on 73rd Avenue.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted employees who told police that the suspect entered the pharmacy, implied that he had a gun, then grabbed multiple prescription bottles before leaving on foot.

Officers checking the neighborhood located a person matching the suspect's description and he was taken into custody without incident.*-..

49-year-old Byron Eddie Davis was arrested last night after an extensive neighborhood search by police officers, including a K-9.

Davis was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on one count of Assault in the Second Degree.



On Tuesday September 2, 2014, at 9:02 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to Maddy's Bar & Grill, located at 11252 Northeast Sandy Boulevard on the report of a stabbing.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the male adult victim at the bar, who was suffering from multiple stab wounds.*-..

09/02/2014 Man Jumps to His Death from Downtown Portland Apartment Building

On Tuesday September 2, 2014, at 7:38 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to Southwest 17th Avenue and Clay Street on the report of a man down on the ground that appeared to be deceased.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and determined that the adult male was deceased.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner and Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and determined that the man jumped from his nearby apartment, which was on the upper floors of the building.

Help is available for community members struggling from a mental health crisis and/or suicidal thoughts.
