11/05/2011 Portland Police Investigators Determine Deaths Were Murder/Suicide at SW Portland Motel

Yesterday, Friday November 4, 2011, at 2:30 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the Econolodge Hotel (1889 Southwest 4th Avenue) on the report of two bodies found in a motel room. Officers and medical personnel determined that a female on the bed was deceased and a male in the bathroom was also deceased. Homicide detectives and Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division responded to the scene to begin conducting an investigation. The deceased were identified as 47-year-old Diane Bailey and 32-year-old Adam Ury. The investigation revealed that both Diane and Adam have been suffering from mental health issues and that they had planned to commit suicide together.*-..
