This afternoon, Wednesday November 21, 2012, at 3:04 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the report of an armed bank robbery and carjacking at the U.S. Bank branch, located at 7300 Southwest Terwilliger Boulevard. On Monday November 19, 2012, at 8:41 p.m., Portland Police officers got out to talk to an adult male after observing him jaywalk in the area of Southwest 12th Avenue and Columbia Street. 11/20/2012 Update on Portland Police Officer Injured by Falling Tree During Monday's Storm

The Portland Police officer injured yesterday during a training accident is continuing to recover at a Portland hospital. Officer Paul Meyer of the Portland Police Bureau is assigned to the Training Division and the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT). Officer Meyer has been protecting and serving the Portland community for more than 19 years. Officer Meyer is in serious condition at this time and will remain in the hospital. Officers who witnessed the accident described the falling tree as a telephone pole-sized tree that fell from 30 feet in the sky before striking Officer Meyer on his ATV. On Sunday November 18, 2012, at 12:39 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the report of a burglary alarm at Frohnmayer Dental, located at 5228 North Lombard Street. Officers arrived and saw a man, later identified as 30-year-old Thomas Berry, hiding in the shrubbery next to the building. Officers contacted Berry who immediately became uncooperative and attempted to punch and officer in the face.*-..

11/17/2012 UPDATE: Portland Police Seek Public's Help Locating Missing, Possibly Endangered Woman

Angie Swartout has been safely located in Northeast Portland and transported to a Portland hospital to be checked for hypothermia. A U.S. Postal Service letter carrier found her asleep on the front porch of a residence in the 1000 block of Northeast Stafford Street this morning. At this point it does not appear that she was injured or assaulted overnight and has no idea who the man was that gave her a ride. The Portland Police Bureau would like to remind people that accepting rides from strangers is discouraged and that community members should only accept transportation from someone they know or legitimate taxi services. ###PPB### ###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW### The Portland Police Bureau Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help locating a missing, possibly endangered woman who was last seen early this morning in Northeast Portland. 25-year-old Angelica May (Angie) Swartout and her friend accepted a ride from an African American male driving a newer silver Prius or similar vehicle from Northwest 12th Avenue and Everett Street at approximately 3:30 a.m., after leaving a Downtown Portland bar. At approximately 4:00 a.m., in the area of Northeast 14th Avenue and Skidmore Street, the friend got out of the car to check street signs as she was disoriented on directions to Swartout's residence after the driver had driven around the block several times.*-..

11/16/2012 UPDATE: Robbery Suspect Choked by Fat Cobra Employee - Portland Police Investigating

Portland Police Robbery Detectives have booked 56-year-old General Bell into the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of Robbery in the Second Degree. Investigators learned that Bell entered Fat Cobra and simulated a weapon as he demanded money before the employee choked him into submission. Bell suffered no injuries as a result of the choke.
